The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the New Library of Alexandria, aspired to implement a landmark honoring the enterprise of science. The main approach of our entry was to create a set of buildings and spaces that can be inspiring on the outside and motivating and exciting on the inside to visitors and employees alike. It expresses a particular vision of the search for knowledge and the pursuit of science.

From the philosophical point of view, the site stimulates the three different dominant environments of Egypt; the agricultural environment, the desert and the coastal zone.
